A
Message from the President
There
is nothing more annoying than going through huge textbooks
with razor thin pages and fine print when you are under the
pressure and time constraints of preparing for the boards.
When I was studying for my boards I wanted to use material
that was concise, relevant to the boards and a quick read.
I didn’t need a book that was going to teach me medicine,
that’s what residency was for. I needed material that
was going to tell me the bottom line of what I needed to know
to pass the boards. This kind of material did not seem to
exist, so it was out of my own frustration that Medtext was
born in the spring of 1990.
The
original vision of Medtext was to provide practice questions
for the Anesthesiology boards that were the same caliber as
the actual examination. A few years later the question books
started to include remembered questions that former customers
would voluntarily share with us, then a study and test-taking
system was added. By 1993, it was obvious that Medtext had
created something unique that was in demand. Since that time
the scope of Medtext’s vision has broadened dramatically.
Good
luck on your exams!
Sincerely,
Gregory A. Smith, M.D.
